Deal us in part two - Vincent

AFTER a nomadic footballing career, Town vice skipper Jamie Vincent admits he is finally back at a club where he feels at home.

Saturday's 2-1 win over Millwall was the 32-year-old's 66th appearance for the Wiltshire outfit, with only Bournemouth out of a long list of clubs getting more service out of him.

Having signed another year's deal over the weekend, Vincent believes he has more good times to look forward to at the County Ground.

He said: "There are new owners, a new manager and obviously new players coming in. It will just be nice to be a part of it all and be part of some real achievements next year. I do feel really settled here.

"I have already said I think we underachieved this season. We had a bad February and March. I think we were seventh or eighth at the time and had we kicked on like we did the last four games then who knows?

"I suppose at the end of the day it was our first season back in League One and we have to be happy with our mid-table finish.

"Overall we have to be happy with the position but I really believe it could have been so much better."

Vincent was one of eight Town players out of contract this summer, with Michael Timlin, Michael Pook, Jack Smith and Miguel Comminges all also offered new contracts.

Timlin and Vincent both secured their futures over the weekend, with Comminges set for a move to the Championship, leaving just Pook and Smith to decide on their futures.

Vincent said: "I am pleased to have signed. I said all along I wanted to stay and compete for next year.

"There was never any doubt really. We had a chat, negotiated the contract, and it was all a bit of a formality really.

"There were no problems we just had a few discussions and then I signed.

"I have played 60 games in the last two seasons and am happy with that.

"Injury has held me back the last few months.

"Hopefully next season I can keep myself fit and play more than this season."

I'm glad Jamie has signed as he is far too good to let go. Fully fit, he is an asset to the squad and hopefully will be a first team regular next season.
