TOWN boss Danny Wilson does not expect to hear back from Bolton about any potential loan deals until next month.
Wilson has been in contact with Wanderers counterpart Owen Coyle about the possibility of re-signing former loanee Danny Ward on a temporary deal, as well as enquiring about fellow forward Tope Obadeyi and an unnamed midfielder.
But the manager explained he will have to bide his time until the Premier League side have formulated their squad for the 2010/11 campaign.
“We spoke to Bolton again (on Tuesday),” said Wilson.
“They won’t do anything until August anyway, when they know what their players will do in terms of whether they’ll get in their squads.
“Until they do that then we won’t have a decision, and we can’t force that one way or the other.
“That’ll be down to the manager and his timing and when he chooses (his squad), but we’ve put our markers down and they know we’re interested. They know how we looked after their players before, so with a bit of luck we might be on the top of the list if it comes to choosing which club to send them to.”
Swindon have also made no secret of their desire to re-recruit Liverpool full-back on loan, following the youngster’s successful spell at the County Ground last season.
But Wilson believes the Reds’ current turmoils mean they may not land their man just yet.
“Stephen’s been involved in all the Liverpool games in pre-season so far, and there are problems in Liverpool’s side at the moment so they’ll be reluctant to let him out,” he said.
“They’ve got the Europa League games this week as well so I think we have to see what happens there.
“But when the World Cup players start coming back to their clubs it might put one or two down the pecking order and then maybe we might have a bit of joy.”

THE NEWS WE`VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR : - SWINDON Town last night agreed a fee of £350,000 with Celtic for midfielder Simon Ferry and full-back Paul Caddis. Caddis, 22, made 24 appearances for the first team at Parkhead, making his home debut when he marked Ronaldinho when Barcelona came to Glasgow in the last 16 of the Champions League in February, 2008. He also had a spell on loan with Dundee United la ADVERTISEMENTst year. Ferry, also 22, has been at Parkhead since 2005 but injuries saw him sidelined for nearly three years. He failed to make the first team but spent last season on loan at Swindon, making 46 appearances for them, including the League One play-off final defeat to Millwall at Wembley. They'll join former Celts Scott Cuthbert and Jon-Paul McGovern at the County Ground. Swindon had earlier seen a second bid for the pair rejected.

A massive step in the right direction, at last. Maybe now we can all rest a bit easier. umpcah , very well done. I'd just looked at the Scottish Sun and the Daily Record and they had both missed it. Good man, and yet again we read it elsewhere before its on here at The Adver.

stroudred1959 wrote:" a centre half who can concentrate for the whole 90 minutes " ? I assume this is a reflection on Morrison ! It`s fair to say that Sean has plenty to learn but he`s keen to learn and with good players around to show him the ropes together with good coaching I think he`s worth a run of gametime if there is no immediate alternative.
Good news , two much needed signings. For me the most urgent priority is to get a decent central defender in.Just a ppov, but I think we will have real problems if we don't get a centre half in who can concentrate for the whole 90 minutes.Otherwise DW/AF have done the business once again with limited resources acquiring quality signings.I'm not to bothered if we take a bit of time to get further strikers/midfielders in, but I reckon they need to get a quality central defender in asap, or even sooner!

Also, the article doesn't exactly state its Darby but does anyone else think that with Caddis and DW in the hunt for another right back that he is considering putting Kev in a more attacting role. I hope so because when he is excellent when he runs with the ball at his feet. Take away a lot of his defensive responsibilities and we could have a very good winger on ouir hands. Thoughts?
