SCOTT Cuthbert believes the defensive attitude visiting teams adapt at the County Ground is a sign of respect for high-flying Town.
Barring a couple of sides, most of the opposition for home games this season have done everything they can to try to stifle Swindon’s attacking instincts.
Struggling Oldham come to town tonight and could well implement the same negative mentality, but Cuthbert, pictured left, insists it is a sign of flattery.
“Recently teams have come here and tried to frustrate us, playing with just one up and things like that,” he told the Advertiser.
“They are hard to break down, but we have kind of got used to it as quite a lot of them over the season have done that.
“We are pushing up the league, playing well and getting results. Teams know that and know that when they come here they will get a hard game.
“It’s a bit of respect. It makes it harder for us to break down, but with the players we’ve got like Charlie and Billy then if they come up with the goals it’s brilliant for us.”
Cuthbert has also been a good source of goals this season, netting three times from his centre-back position.
And the Scot reckons it is important to take the pressure off Swindon’s prolific front pair.
“I don’t usually score, but you take them and I’m delighted with it,” he said.
“It’s great to be winning games and have Billy and Charlie scoring all the time, but we need to chip in elsewhere and I feel like I’ve done that so far.
“Kev (Amankwaah) has had a few, Gordon (Greer) has got one and it’s good for us boys to be in amongst the goals too.”

In past days, we have memories of Alan McLoughlin, Ray McHale and big Shaun Taylor making massive contributions to our total goals scored.
