My old man gets the actual adver and they had a story not on here that PdC has already identified 2 strikers he wants for next season

It also said we were close to landing a 25 year old L1 striker on loan - but has since got back into his team and scoring (shouldn't be too hard to work out who that was then)
    .
Well as said above whether you have seen 1, 10, 25 or all the games - it should be glaring obvious we need a striker
    .
Think we will still do the job this year - but not next without one
    .
I was slated by Jock the other day for suggesting Connell had cost us points - but yesterday is another game to add to that list!
    .
How he manged to hit the bar with an ope goal from a few yards out is beyond me
    .
Then to miss when clear on goal I the 2nd half was poor. He was never going to beat Beven at his near post - most always go far ala Torres of yesterday
    .
He clearly is best as an impact player and all those calling for him to start every game must be seeing that now?
    .
As for the whole game - totally dominated the first half and played some great stuff butfell away in the 2nd
    .
Also officials were woeful! Why did Macca get talked too yet the Rovers captain didn't despite some hideous challenges?
    .
So yes another frustrating afternoon - but it was damage limitation after Crawley and Shrews failed to win games they were expected to. People still confident Crawley will win them all?
    .
Anyway as RDV said Bristol grew as the game went on - so do need some credit. It does annoy me on here that no one ever credits the opposition at all - just like Chesterfield got no credit for stepping up - its always down to us
    .
Well the team I said should have started finished - so hopefully we will see that line up on Tuesday and if it does I'm confident we will win
    .
Especially with Connell and Ritchie in reserve if needed to give a lift
    .
As for new strikers I would like us to go for Cody McDonald again
    .
Ok struggled at Coventry but am confident he would do well here as he certainly knows how to hit the net
    .
However, as for name me who we should sign - that's not our job really
    .
We should have a scouting network who are looking at reserve strikers none of us have the ability to do
    .
Most hits are players we have ever had are ones we have never heard of!
    .
Parkin, Cox, Ferry, Ward, Austin, Caddis, Ritchie, Flint etc
    .
Obviously we can go and buy someone like Kee or whoever but that is rarely how a new L2 or L1 top scorer is discovered
    .
Most like Rhodes are plucked from the reserves and given a chance like our 3 hits of recent years - so our next could be anyone!
LR, you must have been there yesterday as your comments are very good as to the way it panned out.

As to speculation for a striker for next season, agree with your thoughts that it has to be a priority, but at this time of the run in I'd rather concentrate on the limited resources we have available. Everybody is obviously focused on how many points we will get from the last 8 games, my concern is where who are we going to get 10 goals + from, because nobody of the strikers that are available ooze confidence to me!"

Di Canio - My players were lions

PAOLO Di Canio took heart from Swindon's performance against Bristol Rovers, despite the Robins being held to a goalless draw.

Town had plenty of huff and puff but were unable to find a way past Rovers' keeper Scott Bevan.

Alan Connell hit the underside of the crossbar in the first half while substitute Paul Benson headed just wide of goal.

The draw brought to an end an impressive winning run in league on home soil, but Di Canio believes more performances like today's will ensure Swindon win more than they lose before the season is out.

"We had 11 lions out there with discipline and desire," he said.

"It was a fantastic game, but we just couldn't keep it going for 95 minutes.

"I am happy, but I would have been happier with the three points.

"We can't win every game but we are talking about a team who are top of the league with games in hand."
