Strong reserves side beaten by City
3:59pm Tuesday 11th October 2011 in News By Gary Rose
A STRONG Swindon reserves team lost 2-0 in a friendly match at Bristol City today.
Paul Bodin's side played well at City's Failand training ground despite having to contend with a strong wind, but fell behind to a Yannick Bolasie strike five minutes into the second half.
The former Plymouth winger played a clever one-two with Bobby Reid before sending a nice finish beyond Mark Scott.
Bodin made a number of changes in the second half, with youngsters Miles Storey, Ben Whitehead, Eddie Stevens, Louis Thompson and Aaron Oakley all coming on at some stage.
But the hosts sealed victory late in the game when Aaron Amadi-Holloway pounced on a loose ball before firing a shot into the bottom corner of the goal.
First teamers Alberto Comazzi and Nathan Thompson played the full 90 minutes while Oliver Risser and Ibrahim Atiku were given an hour.
Etienne Esajas and Lukas Magera both played 45 minutes before being withdrawn with minor knocks.
