Strong reserves side beaten by City
3:59pm Tuesday 11th October 2011 in News By Gary Rose
A STRONG Swindon reserves team lost 2-0 in a friendly match at Bristol City today.
Paul Bodin's side played well at City's Failand training ground despite having to contend with a strong wind, but fell behind to a Yannick Bolasie strike five minutes into the second half.
The former Plymouth winger played a clever one-two with Bobby Reid before sending a nice finish beyond Mark Scott.
Bodin made a number of changes in the second half, with youngsters Miles Storey, Ben Whitehead, Eddie Stevens, Louis Thompson and Aaron Oakley all coming on at some stage.
But the hosts sealed victory late in the game when Aaron Amadi-Holloway pounced on a loose ball before firing a shot into the bottom corner of the goal.
First teamers Alberto Comazzi and Nathan Thompson played the full 90 minutes while Oliver Risser and Ibrahim Atiku were given an hour.
Etienne Esajas and Lukas Magera both played 45 minutes before being withdrawn with minor knocks.
TOWN (4-4-2): Mark Scott; Nathan Thompson, Alberto Comazzi, Joe Chapman (Aaron Oakley), Chris Sims; Ibrahim Atiku (Louis Thompson), Oliver Risser (Eddie Stevens, 60), Harry Grant, Etienne Esajas (Ben Whitehead, 46); Lukas Magera (Miles Storey, 46), Jordan Pavett.

The Flint mystery continues, but I dare say somebody will have all the answers. Seems Pavett is fit enough to go the 90 minutes then.

Pavett was on fire but getting no service, di canio never attended, by all accounts he has only gone to watch one ressie game and stayed half game since taking over Thompson brothers did well, Atiku average...
The important thing is that the guys got a run out and some valuable time up against players who wanted to play and wanted to win, so at that level reasonable opposition. I would like to know how Atiku performed as we have yet to see him play a league game. From what I saw of him in the friendlies, he wasn't brilliant but wasn't too bad. I've seen worse.

So from that I presume there is nothing much wrong with Atiku, and Pavett is perhaps better than we have been led to believe by some, and at least he is having a go which I take as encouraging.
Still no Flint, this is now surely bordering on farce if he is fit, because a run out for the latter part of the second half would surely not have been harmful in any way.
The whole Flint situation needs to be cleared up to stop conjecture and rumour.

It's not about football or how good ur are it's all politics and I'm afraid Swindon fans are being sucked in with the di canio circus.. Let's hope the lads who have been over looked by Pdc come back and haunt him....
I thought Pavett was still on trial at Crewe?....
When did he return??

So Pavett was brilliant again and only the lack of service prevented him netting a hatful... No doubt the Crewe move is back on then??
You are getting more and more desperate fella.... Trying to drag Flint (a real first teamer coming back from injury) into your own little battle is pathetic.... You do Jordan no favours...
