BRISTOL City expect Scott Murray to remain at Ashton Gate next season despite Swindon Town being one of several clubs showing an interest in the winger.
Town boss Maurice Malpas admitted he had enquired about Murray and was waiting for a response from the Scot, who has been offered a year's extension to his deal at the Championship outfit.
City chairman Steve Lansdown claims positive talks were held with Murray earlier this week and manager Gary Johnson expects any interest to be rebuffed.
He said: "We feel Scott would like to stay with us and I know he's spoken to the chairman.
"Scott can challenge for a place next season, and if at some stage he is not in the team then there is always the option of a loan deal."
