BRISTOL City expect Scott Murray to remain at Ashton Gate next season despite Swindon Town being one of several clubs showing an interest in the winger.

Town boss Maurice Malpas admitted he had enquired about Murray and was waiting for a response from the Scot, who has been offered a year's extension to his deal at the Championship outfit.

City chairman Steve Lansdown claims positive talks were held with Murray earlier this week and manager Gary Johnson expects any interest to be rebuffed.

He said: "We feel Scott would like to stay with us and I know he's spoken to the chairman.

"Scott can challenge for a place next season, and if at some stage he is not in the team then there is always the option of a loan deal."

I feel we have mist out on a player who really could have taken Swindon Town a step further to the Chapionship. I know many supporters are against any possibility of his arrival but I feel he would make a promotion push more realistic.

However we do have this full back comming in from Swansea, which hopefully could give us an exciting player in our deffence.

Looking at his playing Qualities he looks a good player.

On a personal view i cant stand him due to him shaking his fist's and mocking town fan's in the past.So im happy as a sand boy whatever that is.

Thers's also the fact he may have to play 90 mins of football here and earn his wage, and not the 80 mins sat on the subs bench at Trashton Gate

As we are supposedly looking for younger players the interest seemed odd in the first place. Did we really want to offer a 2 year contract to a 34 year old? An old winger is not exactly gonna strip anyone for pace. We need a Mcnamee with a right foot.

off topic

I found out what a sandboy was it's some kind of insect that jumps about in the sand in a jolliity fashion.

Other meaning was something about boys shovelling sand and being paid.

A Bit like city players on holiday at weston with their bucket and spades :-)
