WITH the season over by just a matter of hours, Town have already started planning for the 2008/09 campaign by clinching the signatures of two players.
Defender Jamie Vincent has extended his Town career after signing a new one-year deal, while midfielder Michael Timlin, who has been on loan at the County Ground, has signed a permanent two-year contract to complete his move from Fulham.
Town are still waiting for answers from full-backs Jack Smith and Miguel Comminges, having offered both players new contracts.

They are good signings :-
I like Jamie in the centre but he does a good job at left back. Utility defender.
Tims is definitely good enough for this level and seems to be getting back to his best. A good pre season should sort him out...

(If we get any money out of it)..perhaps MM could see to offering the Luton FC Players Auction a few quid for Parkin.. :D
Sad to see Andy Nicholas for probably the last time at the county ground. Granted he hasn't played much, but was a useful squad player, especially with Miguel jumping ship.

great news that timlin has signed, i think once the whole team have settled he could be the link we have been missing for a while.
id like to see another decent defender coming in who can play all across the back, also a striker in the mould of parkin (although i think it would be a mistake if we re signed him) who can partner cox upfront, unfortunately as much as i rate corr, he's too injury prone and i dont think sturrock would be able to cut it as a striker in a team fighting for promotion.
Also good to see the youth players breaking through, building for the future is a good sign that this team is going in the right direction!!

i think timlin will be a very good signing. he linked up well with easty yesterday and was playing sum lovely passes and his corners were causing problems. think we missed peacks up front yesterday 2. the atmosphere was gud 2.

yeah maclean would be good, had a great season but he would probably want to stay with peterborough seeing as they just got promoted. lester is prob getting a bit old now and i expect MM will be trying to bring in more younger players.
As for Brez, i hope he stays but its inevitable he will get interest over the summer from clubs in higher divisions as he is a class act in goal for us, the way the club is going now though id like to see us fight tooth and nail to keep a player like him, especially as a sign to the rest of the leagues that we are no longer a selling club!!

parkin on loan would be a good idea, would definately be worth it if we could, cant see luton wanting to send him out on loan though if they can cash in on him strait away
