Easton bemoans Corr's bad luck
CRAIG Easton believes Barry Corr must be the unluckiest man he has ever met' - but points to Christian Roberts' shining example of the effect the walking wounded can still have at the County Ground.
Corr is facing another six months on the sidelines after suffering a recurrence of his shoulder injury yesterday, just 45 minutes into his comeback game, as his fitness jinx strikes again.
The Irish striker has made just five starts this campaign, due to back and shoulder problems, and is set to follow Christian Roberts into the operation theatre.
Roberts is due for knee surgery today but still found time to try and lift a dejected Town dressing room yesterday afternoon - something Easton believes merits great recognition.
He said: "I am gutted for Barry. Christian has been in the dressing room though trying to lift the players' spirits.
"He is going in for an operation tomorrow and yet he is the one buzzing about and that is the type of guy he is.
"Both are good to have around the place even though they are injured and that is a testament to both. They want to be on the pitch though and we want them there as well."
Corr was a rare bright spark on a poor Town afternoon yesterday and Easton is confident the gangly striker still has a big future ahead.
He said: "Barry must be the unluckiest man I have ever met probably. I don't know the extent of the injury but it is a shame for the lad.
"It might be a case of writing this season off and going for it again next season. I wish him and Christian all the best.
"Hopefully he will get himself right again and come back stronger. Hopefully we are yet to see the best of Barry Corr and he will come back stronger."
