CAPTAIN'S LOG: It's not like that every week mate!
ONE of my friends came to the game against Huddersfield on Tuesday night and I think he thinks it is like that every week. He will certainly be back.
Talk about eventful, but the most important thing for us all is that we got the maximum points
We had a brilliant start on Tuesday, going 3-0 up within half-an-hour and, to be honest, by half-time we should have been four or five up. It was a brilliant display and gives everyone encouragement for the future.
For me it was only a poor decision from the referee that gave them a way back into the game. It was a very dubious penalty. For me Lee Peacock got the ball but going in at 3-1, rather than 3-0 makes a massive difference.
The goal gave them a really big lift and obviously with the sending offs as well they worked their way back into the game and it was backs-to-the-wall stuff towards the end.
One of the big problems was when Billy Paynter and Peacock got sent off because we lost two of our best defensive headers of the ball and so every time they threw the ball in the box we became a bit nervy.
Credit to all the lads though for fighting and making sure we got those three points.
I always think the game before a free weekend is massive because we can now go into it boosted by that win and ready for Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
We know Orient will be tough on Tuesday without Billy and Lee, through suspension. But we believe in ourselves and will go looking for another positive result.
Before the win against Huddersfield we had only won one in six and obviously that gets everyone down. I would say the performances have not been too bad though.
We played well at Oldham and played well at Forest but the results just weren't going for us.
Maybe we got a bit of the rub of the green we deserved finally.
No-one knows where we will finish come the end of the season, it is all ifs and buts at the moment. But I would say that there is normally one team that comes up on the rails.
Brighton are looking good at the moment, with a few games in hand, but our position is okay and let us see what it looks like after the weekend.
