Arsenal are a different class, but at what cost?

I WENT to watch Arsenal play Reading on Monday night with my son, Simon Cox and Town's press officer Chris Tanner and it was a joy to be there.

Emmanuel Adebayor's (pictured below) movement all night was absolutely fantastic and you don't really notice it as much just watching it on the television.

I see after the game Reading boss Steve Coppell spoke out about the amount of foreigners in the Premier League nowaday.

The Reading fans obviously agreed because they spent the game singing England' sarcastically at the Arsenal fans.

The visiting support did not seem too bothered though and were singing back what has England ever won'.

That may be a bit harsh but shows at the end of the day as a supporter of your club you want to win the Premiership title with the best team you can have.

If that means having it full of foreigners then I think supporters think so be it.

At least they are watching some tremendous football and their team is winning matches.

It is a thin line really. But one thing is for sure, it is not good for English football. The top sides are looking elsewhere to bring players in.

Maybe the managers and chairmen feel the players in France, Portugal, or anywhere else are better players than we have got in England.

If that is the case then who can blame them?

Youngsters like Simon Cox have got it harder than ever in terms of making it.

I look at myself when I was a youngster and think if the climate was like it is now, would I have had the career I have.

Coxy must feel like he is banging his head against a brick wall at times because he has so many good players ahead of him at Reading.

He also knows Reading could just spend a couple of million to bring another top striker in, so it is difficult.

But all he can do is keep banging away.

He is working hard, scoring goals and I know Reading are watching every game he plays and taking note of how well is doing. Who knows Steve Coppell might decide to put him on the bench one day and the rest could be history.

Going back to Swindon though, I thought we did really well in horrible conditions in the FA Cup at Wycombe the other day.

To me the ball seemed flat.

The new FA Cup balls I don't think any of the lads are too pleased with.

I would like to know the feedback throughout the country because they are like beach balls.

What with that, the hard bobbly pitch and a tough side to beat, we have to be pleased with getting through and I think the draw has been quite kind to us.

It would be great to get through and then hopefully draw one of the big boys.
